The Amazon: FACTSTORY’s vision for sustainable forest management

Bringing the Amazon to the world
The Amazon is more than a forest, it’s a lifeline for communities, a powerhouse of biodiversity, and as the one of the world’s biggest carbon sinks, a crucial player in the fight against climate change. Yet, illegal logging and deforestation continue to threaten the forest and its communities. . The challenge: how to showcase a solution that allows communities to make a living from the forest while protecting it for future generations?
FACTSTORY took on this mission in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Our goal? To tell the story of sustainable forest management in a way that resonates, engages and inspires. Through our cameras, we captured how responsible stewardship can turn the Amazon into a source of prosperity without sacrificing its future.

Impactful storytelling
At FACTSTORY, we believe in the power of visual storytelling to drive change. For this project, we didn’t just film landscapes. We documented lives. We followed the journey of those who depend on the forest and are now embracing sustainability.

Our team ventured deep into the Amazon, capturing the resilience and determination of rural communities. With drone footage, we revealed the vast canopy that remains intact thanks to responsible management. Through intimate interviews, we amplified the voices of forest workers, community leaders and families who now see a future where prosperity and conservation go hand in hand.

Driving change through narratives
To make these stories resonate beyond borders, FACTSTORY produced a complete multimedia package designed for maximum reach and engagement. Launched during COP16 in Colombia in November 2024, our content helped bring sustainable forest management to the forefront of the global conversation.

Our deliverables included:
-
A central video (3-5 minutes) in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, showcasing the transformation happening in the Amazon.
-
A 1-minute video optimised for social media to drive awareness and engagement.
-
A compelling written narrative (800-1000 words) that deepens the storytelling experience.
-
A curated selection of 30-50 photographs, capturing the essence of sustainable living in the Amazon.
By bringing these stories to life, we bridge the gap between policy, people, and action. The Amazon’s future is being shaped today, and through our work with BID, we ensure that its story is seen, heard and remembered.
