A SAFE HAVEN'S STORY
UNICEF
Stories of strength: FACTSTORY’s work in Ecuador

In Esmeraldas, Ecuador, a new Comprehensive Support Centre has become a pillar for migrant families navigating an uncertain future. Supported by UNICEF, this space provides children with education, safety and a sense of stability. This isn’t just a shelter: it’s a place where routines are rebuilt and futures take shape.

Over three days, FACTSTORY worked to capture this reality, documenting the centre’s everyday rhythm. Through interviews with UNICEF staff, we highlighted the essential role of those who run the centre, ensuring families receive not just services, but real support. Meanwhile, children’s voices narrate their own stories over images of their lives inside the center: laughing with friends, focusing in class, finding moments of calm. With every frame, the goal was to let them speak for themselves.

The result is a two-minute film that does more than showcase a project: it shares a lived experience. Through a careful blend of imagery and voices, FACTSTORY helped bring forward an authentic, human-centered perspective on a space that is not just about assistance, but about resilience and community.
